Despite the snow blanketing the ground, the spectacle of preparing for my execution seems to have ignited a thousand hot fire devils in the crowd’s eyes - with my blood, the only thing to douse them.  Only an important man could draw such a crowd. But I know I am lying to myself.  I am just a wandering fellow trying to make bitter juice out of life’s rotten fruits. You know what? Perhaps, I deserve to die. The guillotine will mete out fair justice.

The incessant yelling and chanting grow louder as they drag me towards the graveyard. Ah, at last, the place where I will meet my brutal end is near!

My death seems an important occasion. It would purchase a thousand goodwills for the town’s Mayor for sure. A better bargain than when he cheated me of my gold coins! To the Mayor, I’m the gift that keeps on giving.
