WHY another church?
Jesus was going through Jericho, where a man named Zacchaeus lived. He was in charge of collecting taxes and was very rich. He tried to get a look at Jesus, but he was too short to see over the crowd.
- Luke 19:1-10
So he ran ahead of the crowd and climbed a sycamore tree to see Jesus, who was going to pass that way.
…“Zacchaeus, come down immediately. I must stay at your house today.”

But the crowds were displeased. “He has gone to be the guest of a notorious sinner,” they grumbled.
…“For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost.”

WHO are we?
JESUS IS A BIG DEAL
EVERYONE IS LOVED AND WELCOMED
EVERYONE HAS A NEXT STEP
LIFE IS BETTER TOGETHER
WE’RE CONTRIBUTORS NOT CONSUMERS
Tax collectors and other notorious sinners often came to listen to Jesus teach. This made the Pharisees and teachers of religious law complain that he was associating with such sinful people—even eating with them!
- Luke 15:1-5
“If any of you has 100 sheep, and one of them gets lost, what will you do? Won't you leave the 99 in the field and go look for the 1 lost sheep until you find it?”

LIFE IS BETTER TOGETHER
WE’RE CONTRIBUTORS NOT CONSUMERS
WHERE are we headed?
For Christ’s love compels us, because we are convinced that one died for all, and therefore all died.
- 2nd Corinthians 5:14-20
And he has committed to us the message of reconciliation. We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us.
