After being pulled out of the well by some dishonest merchants, Yusuf is sold into slavery. Eventually, he reaches Egypt. Then, due to his excellent qualities, he is purchased by the prime minister in the hopes of adopting him or benefiting from him through some other means. Here he spends years in good treatment, only to have the wife of the minister fall in love with him, and attempt to seduce him. Yusuf resists due to the protection of Allah.
