The Search

I sent Peter Kent a little thing that came via email, called “What women want” and the essence of the statement is that they want to control their own lives, to which Peter Kent answered, “You, my beauty, shall always have your way with me.”  I went with him to post bond today for the no motorcycle endorsement issue and wrote the following while waiting for him to be processed:

 

The Search

 

The Earth stands still when we embrace

Enfolds me in such rapturous state

It stills my racing heart to know

That loving you has been my fate.

 

Eternity has come and past

That spanned my search for you in time

And brought me to this moment when

I’d find this peace with you sublime.

 

A thousand yesterdays are gone

They matter not in what they were

And though with trials and tears were fraught

In your love I have found the cure.

 

This moment makes them all worthwhile

For just the touch of your sweet kiss

That warms my lips and heart and soul

Engulfing me with passion’s bliss.

 

I drink you in with hungry eyes

To memorize your face and frame

And know without a single doubt

That life will never be the same.

 

From this day forward all is blessed

The world is ours, the future bright

And all the shadows chased away

As we shine forth with Lover’s light!

We also went to enter him in the Misdemeanor Intervention Program over the shoplifting issue with Publix.  They had not heard that he had just turned himself in on his outstanding warrant and had two officers come to take him into custody.  This whole series of events has been nightmarish for him and it’s been hard to see him trying to free himself of his past in favour of our future.

 

In the car, on the way home, he said how much he appreciates me being there for him and I could tell he was fighting back tears.  I am deeply touched that my love means so much to him.  In response to the poem he wrote “A thousand yesterdays are gone      They matter not in what they were. That is the best truth.    Each day gets more glorious. “ Peter Kent

 

I've been writing my story since I was able to write, but when the media goes to share it, they only choose the parts that fit their idea of what will generate views.  If I'm going to share my story, it should be the whole story.  The titles are the dates things happened. I know there will be people who take things out of context and try to use them to validate their own misconception, but you have access to the whole story.  My hope is that others will recognize themselves in my words and have the strength to do what is right for themselves and our shared planet.
