Dear Howie,  I had just gone to bed, when I realized you asked me if I frequent bars and pick up men, (because of my comment about the Playboy channel) and I just said, "no, not anymore" and got distracted with something else.  I didn't explain myself, and despite all of the recent assertive training, feel that I should:  I have only done that four times, perhaps, in my entire life and not in the last 12 years or more.  Oddly enough, two of those people turned out to be life long friends.   My morals are not as high as I would like, but they are not as low as my comment would suggest.

 

I feel awkward saying this because of the negative implications of doing so, but also want you to know that I have not and will not engage in unprotected sex outside of our relationship as your continued good health is of utmost importance to me.  While I may have had a rather nonchalant attitude toward my own health, based on the fact that I never even catch a cold, I would not risk your well being by association.  As long as I am on uncomfortable subjects, I want to say that I really appreciate you telling me what you want sexually.  I am not a mind reader, despite my claims to the contrary, and truly wish to please you.  I can only be effective if you let me know what you like and what you don't.  As someone who has a hard time saying what I want, I can appreciate what an imposition that is for me to ask of you, but in the long run we will both benefit.  Of the two of us, you are stronger, so you can lead by example.  ;-) - Carole

 

I've been writing my story since I was able to write, but when the media goes to share it, they only choose the parts that fit their idea of what will generate views.  If I'm going to share my story, it should be the whole story.  The titles are the dates things happened. I know there will be people who take things out of context and try to use them to validate their own misconception, but you have access to the whole story.  My hope is that others will recognize themselves in my words and have the strength to do what is right for themselves and our shared planet.
