God’s Work of Redemption

How God works His redemptive plan in the lives of individuals is a mystery and a wonder! Rahab is given a promise that she and her family will be saved. But the story seems to end with the departure of the spies; we have to wait a bit to find out if she really is saved. But as she leaves the story line we find out she hangs the scarlet cord out of her window. It is the least dangerous of all the acts she had done, but it is the only thing given to her to hang her hope on. What do we learn about God from the first part of Rahab’s story? We do not make God’s plans for Him nor dictate to Him who He is going to save. God words in people’s lives as He chooses. For by grace we are saved through faith.
