Update from Howie on the Joe Schreibvogel saga:
Joe has been all over Facebook saying that John Finlay, one of his “husbands,” is just taking some family time off. But I think the story in the local papers suggests this is just one more of Joe’s never ending string of lies. It appears that Schreibvogel filed a police report and told reporters that Finlay attacked him and was fired. Past employees have told us that when they tried to leave the zoo after becoming tired of being mistreated by Joe that he filed false police reports against them and even accused them of stealing their own belongings. After we won our $1mm+ judgment against the GW Park and Joe personally, Joe had three individuals incorporate a new GW Zoo. John Finlay was named President of that new Zoo. Of course, this is the same John Finlay who was asked in depositions under oath what his role was at the zoo. His answer was that he slept until mid day, then went fishing and played video games. Great credentials for someone who now supposedly is responsible for the care of hundreds of animals and the safety of thousands of visitors.
