I bought my dad a pen made from a bullet shell.

“Vern likes his pen.  It is surprisingly comfortable to hold while you write.  The name is etched in military style which is unusual.  It brought back memories of shells he used to collect on the military firing site of Henderson Air Base where USF is located today.  Love,  Mom”

 

There isn’t much I can give my father.  He lives simply, but he does draw out diagrams a lot, for the cages that he builds, so it seemed like a good gift.

 

Today is day three of being on high alert for the crazies in town.  I’ve been shutting our blinds at night.  I’ve only done that on very rare occasions in the decades I lived here because you can’t see any neighbors from here.
