I’m really thankful I didn’t lose my Dropbox folder for this diary 

when I moved to a new 8 TB drive!

 

I love that Jamie is so capable and completely wrote the Bobcat Rehab Class and created the quiz for it.

 

I am thankful for Calvin Coolidge’s piece on persistence, as it served me today and just about every day.  Today it was Salsa not working right and an alert that had to go out today.  I just kept trying different things until I finally succeeded.  I’m exhausted.

 

I’m thankful that Howie completed his law degree 

even though he knew mid way that he didn’t want to be a lawyer.  This was his response to a cease and desist letter we were sent for asking a restaurant not to allow Christine Janks of Carson Springs to bring Geoffrey Cat kittens to her fundraiser.

 

Ms. Henderson although I have a law degree I am not an attorney.  As an executive here I handle legal matters for the sanctuary by engaging the attorneys who represent us. On average we have allocated about $250,000 per year for the last five years for litigation in support of our mission to end what we view as mistreatment of animals.

 

I have reviewed the correspondence, and please understand I don't mean this to be confrontational, but very frankly the only remarks that I can find in the correspondence that I view as untruthful and potentially slanderous (or perhaps more technically libelous since in writing?) are the statements in your email which make absurdly false statements about our intentions.

 

I don't plan to spend time corresponding with you further on this. If you decide you want to litigate the matter, please address the service to me.

I’m am grateful that we do raise enough money to fight the lawsuits we have to fight and to provide our people with the tools they need to educate the public and care for our cats.  Yesterday I bought 4 iPad Air 2’s and Otterbox cases for our tour guides.

 

I look forward to our trip to PAWS.  They are holding a conference, where Howie will be speaking and then a Big Cat Summit to see how everyone can finally get behind the 3 pronged approach Big Cat Rescue has been working on as part of a Big Cat Coalition since 2011.  It’s about time. I keep reminding myself something Wayne Pacelle told me years ago; “You can accomplish anything if you don’t care who gets the credit.”
