Mom’s email to me about giving up on Dad

I appreciate your telling Jamie this.  I agree with you 100%.  I don't want anyone to think I am not trying to do everything for him that I can.  He has to want to help.

 

For the last two days Chuck has picked Vern up from the bed and into his lounger and today he said he was much weaker than the day before in his ability to help Chuck move him.  I have seen it every day since August 6.  At first I could do everything because Vern was able to help but that time has passed.  I am not sure if even Chuck can move him another day since that is a lot of weight to dead lift without any help from the individual.

 

I just pray that he will not be in pain.  They sent a prescription yesterday and Katie picked it up and brought it to him but he said it didn't do any good.  Today I asked for a liquid pain killer that was stronger and the nurse said she would see if the doctor would agree as it would be morphine.

 

As for the magnet, they says his brand of pacemaker has an ability to turn it off a special way but has to be approved by his primary heart doctor who is on vacation until Monday, August 29.  There are five doctors in his group but apparently none want the responsibility of making that decision.

 

We tend to think this downturn was a recent event but looking back we can see signs of the decline.  I know I have mentioned that to you from time to time.  Chuck said he had even noticed in the last month that Vern was sitting on the golf cart more and more and breathing harder and harder.  Ecclesiastes 7:11-14: "See the way God does things and fall into line.  Don't fight the facts of nature."  Love you!

 

I Finished a Video Tribute to Day

 

I’m thankful for the reminder from The Universe that I’m only dreaming this human experience.

I finished the 30 minute tribute to Dad yesterday.  I’d like him to see it, but not sure he can stay awake that long.  I’m going to make a shorter version.
