Mom’s Update on Dad
Really bad night even with the strong pain killer. The nurse came today but after checking him only seemed concerned about getting a tech to turn off the defibrillator so it doesn't cause more pain should it try to do its job. The tech will be here tomorrow.
I’m glad I was able to deliver the Tribute to Dad video to her and hope she’s been able to share it with him. She had blankets hung in the hall and a towel over the tiny off light on the TV because Dad says the light is so hard on his eyes. He can’t open his eyes, so she doesn’t know how that can be, but she’s doing all she can to accommodate him.
I’m thankful that Corey Roscoe from HSUS will be here tonight to talk to our volunteers about communication skills. Corey emailed, “I plan on talking about personal skills, people skills and public speaking skills as ways to improve communications. I briefly touch on working with kids. I'll offer some additional resources for folks to continue their learning.”
In many ways I’m glad the sanctuary is so all consuming of my time. It helps keep my mind off losing Dad.
Today Gale has a huge work group in Bobcat Rehab. They are adding dirt and sod, so I’m glad she got some outside help for that back breaking work.
Hi, I’m Carole Baskin and I’ve been writing my story since I was able to write, but when the media goes to share it, they only choose the parts that fit their idea of what will generate views. If I'm going to share my story, it should be the whole story. The titles are the dates things happened. If you have any interest in who I really am please start at the beginning of this playlist: http://savethecats.org/
I know there will be people who take things out of context and try to use them to validate their own misconception, but you have access to the whole story. My hope is that others will recognize themselves in my words and have the strength to do what is right for themselves and our shared planet.
