Our Dad Was Baptized Twice
Chuck said it was so that he could date our Mom. This was during the Sunday morning worship on Lake Maurine, and was news to me. I like that this group actually thinks about all of the rituals and dogma that we’ve been taught and then looks to the Bible for whether or not that was actually part of the “plan.” I appreciate that open mindedness, but have to keep my mouth shut about being even more open minded, as to consider whether or not any loving God would call for animal or human sacrifice.
Before the meeting Chuck was taking about his 48 mile hike through the Appalachian trail with Mark McCrae. They had come upon a bear in the woods and all of them ran off in different directions. I told Trundy that when I had run away at 15 and was living in the White Mountains, I’d sleep out on a ledge so I could see anyone coming toward me and was completely protected by the drop off on 3 sides. I woke up one morning and groggily looked over the edge to see bears. I’d never seen bears before and was aghast that I’d been sleeping amongst them. After that, I fully expected a bear behind every tree.
Trundy said I really need to write my life’s story in a book. I agreed that I should before I forget all of the adventures and misadventures.
Best CITES ever for Tigers
Dear Howard & Carole, We just had THE most amazing tiger event ever in the history of CITES. Jamie and Justin are taking to CITES like ducks to water. They may have just saved the Florida panther tonight after the side event by double teaming the head of the US delegation (Dan Ashe). I'm too tired to say more than thank you for money well spent already, and we are only at day two of the conference. All best, Judy Mills
