Welcome to The Anachronist, a time traveling review of science fiction old and new. Every episode we go back to a different year in history and read their science fiction. This episode we go to 2017 to read an excellent story, “What Cheer” by RJ Edwards. A young trans woman named Addie finds a strange walnut sized seed in the park which then grows rapidly and from it an alien emerges. They hang out for 29 hours as the alien gets to know Earth and Addie learns a bit more about herself.
