Wander, Rendever and Parklane Interactive
I don’t remember what led me to the
[email protected] website, but it culminated in a call today with Tom Neumann who is one of the co founders (Kyle Rand). They’ve been around for 2 years and are a team of 7 based in Boston. Tom says they filmed at Big Cat Rescue a couple years ago to get what they could from the tourist side of the barricade and he follows our videos and is a fan.
They have a $5.99 app called Wander that works off of their licensing agreement with Google maps. It’s pretty ingenious, as you can go any where in the world, by clicking the spot on a map or typing in a place, like Big Cat Rescue or Disney World, and if Google Earth has mapped it, you can see it in 360 degrees.
They have a package they offer to senior living facilities because seniors often suffer depression once they are no longer able to travel. The homes purchase the headsets and laptop that operates as the hub for playing all the same thing at the same time. Rendever then is a subscription model for new content, support, etc. They have 70 communities in 30 states and are trying to expand. They were named one of The Top Seven Startups For Souped-Up Senior Care by Forbes.
They have bootstrapped the business and because of a lot of good press are getting offers from VCs but don’t want to give up their mission for profits. I told them I’m not a whale, but I want them to keep me apprised of what they do when it comes to fundraising, as I may want to be a part of it.
Below was my email to him before the call.
Looking forward to our call in a couple minutes. I tried out your Wander app. Great concept!
I'd be happy to have you include 360 photos of Big Cat Rescue there too. We had a google maps thing done many years ago, and are in the process of updating it, but here are some of those older ones:

This is a list of our 360 videos stored on Amazon's S3 for easy retrieval:
Hi, I’m Carole Baskin and I’ve been writing my story since I was able to write, but when the media goes to share it, they only choose the parts that fit their idea of what will generate views. These are my views and opinions. If I'm going to share my story, it should be the whole story. The titles are the dates things happened. If you have any interest in who I really am please start at the beginning of this playlist: http://savethecats.org/
I know there will be people who take things out of context and try to use them to validate their own misconception, but you have access to the whole story. My hope is that others will recognize themselves in my words and have the strength to do what is right for themselves and our shared planet.
