Football Language: Late Winners
We all know that football matches last for 90 minutes – two halves of 45 minutes – while there is also injury time or added time (or sometimes known as stoppage time) which could last an extra 4 or 5 minutes per half depending on the referee’s discretion. There has been some late drama in the World Cup so far with some very late winners, these are goals that have won a game near the end of the match.
