The Bible teaches that you have three enemies that are trying to mess with your life. They want to defeat you and keep you from having joy, purpose and meaning in life. The Bible calls these three enemies, the world...the Satan and the flesh (you). Now, most people think that our biggest enemy would be Satan or the world, but actually, your biggest enemy is YOU. As we read last week, Paul struggled with this as he writes in Romans 7... “I can’t figure myself out. All my best intentions aren’t good enough. I want to do the right thing but I don’t. And I don’t want to do the wrong thing but I do.” You see, the truth is, the battle for YOU, is inside of YOU and I believe that much of our unhappiness and brokenness is because we listen to us instead of listening to God.
