Here is a sharing of the process how my soundtrack for Halloween 2020 came about:While Halloween is just around the corner, why not I mix something up for it?What kind of tracks do you have in mind for a Halloween megamix? Certainly, I am not that keen on popular Halloween chart hits. Therefore, I compiled a list of iconic horrow movie themes and came up with the following list and their respective keys. This is always the first thing I did with a mix in mind. This is how acapellas are extracted and most of the times are done pretty well.Now let's start mixing. I started off with the Halloween theme as that is the most recognizable theme of the list. I have chosen instrumental Techno tracks for the background and then it is a matter of cut and paste with some effects or key shifts to fit with the vocal quotes and maintaining the flow of the mix.In the process, I did encounter issues with the themes as most have variable bpm(tempo). I found a workaround by using those synthesia videos that teaches you how to play piano, and those has a fixed tempo. By adding some reverbs and delays, it sounded great in the end. Therefore, some of the themes are not from original soundtrack.By the way, I bought a new vst called "Stutter Edit 2 by BT", it's 75% off at the moment. This is worth investing in and the stutter effects are out of this world!
