2020 Week 10 - Runaway Success, More closure and a Russian Theme Park

• Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway has been a Runaway success. With rave reviews and up to 300 minute estimated queues.

• The Coronavirus continues to impact the global theme park industry with Legoland and Universal Studios in Japan closing for the recommended 2 week period. In the US, no parks have closed but attendance has declined, which has resulted in increasing availability of boarding groups for Rise of the Resistance.

• Disney California Adventure opened their Food and wine festival this week.

• Magic Kingdom has continued its run with break downs on the Haunted Mansion and the People Mover this week.

• There were previews of Universal’s secret life of pets ride and Disney’s new Cirque du Soleil show Drawn to Life this week.

• Europe’s largest indoor theme park opened in Russia this week. Dream Island is no longer Dreamworks themed but features attractions from Hotel Transylvania, TMNT and Garfield - although many of these are yet to open.

• Europa Park have Announced more pirates for the upcoming season with The Departure to Batavia 4D Movie to open along with the Pirates in Batavia dark ride.

• Movie Park in Germany has announced its adding 3 new rides for its upcoming season. Two rethemed kids rides and a laser tag replacement of their Walking Dead attraction.

• Dollywood has reportedly bought land surrounding the Tennessee theme park.
