Hunkered In The Bunker

2020/03/13 Hunkered # 1

Listen Later

This week, we go back to the beginning. This is the maiden voyage of the good ship "Hunkered In The Bunker". At 8:02 PM PST, Dan Bern armed only with some guitars, songbooks, warm liquids and 2 brave crew members Lulu and Larry, set off to bring hope to a nation(and planet) in the early days of the Covid-19 Quarantine. It was the beginning of a deep dive into his vast(and ever expanding) songbook as well as covers, readings and the occasional physical challange. Equal parts folk show, poetry slam, pirate radio broadcast with a dash of FDR Fireside Chat warmth. Starting here you will find the first or hundreds of original songs and covers from all genres/time periods. Join us every week for a new show from down in the bunker. This week kicks things off with some brand new(at the time, but in Bernsteinn's world, they are now old) quarantine based songs as well as some DB classics like Chelsea Hotel, Jerusalem and Party By Myself. He even welcomes frequent collaborter Lulu Bern for a show closing version of Imagine
