This week's episode of "Hunkered In The Bunker" finds our hero deeply entrenched in the service of Blarney. Ol' Daniel McBernsteinn paints the bunker green with songs that share the common thread of the color of heather, emerald and shamrocks...and once a year, the Chicago River. Dan covers a wide range of people from Woody Guthrie to Green Day to Henry VIII(Yes, that one) on this episode while still squeezing in some modern plague wisdom("Quarantine Me") and a poetry reading from HITB favorite, Lulu Bern who gives us a little green themed Shel Silversteen. So today(well, not actually TODAY but pretend it's the day O' Dan McBern originally recorded this show) let's give thanks (in the form of hoisting a pint of green beer, eating some cornbeef and cabbage or dancing a jig or three) to St. Patrick for ridding the Emerald Isle of snakes... It seems impressive but at the same time I know that Larry rid Istanbul of the 3 toed Sloth as well as inferior wool socks from Bursa, Turkey. And yet, nobody celebrates Larry on October 11th.
