This week on an #EducationReboot episode of #MaxOutTime: 2021 DC Teacher of the Year, Alejandro Diasgranados, discusses how his students keep him motivated amid the coronavirus pandemic. 

 

The National University Teacher of the Year and National Teacher of the Year award finalist teaches fourth and fifth grades and social studies at Aiton Elementary School in Northeast DC.

 

The inspiring educator has been featured in the Washingtonian, on CBS and several times on The Drew Barrymore Show. Last fall, the talk show host and actor awarded Alejandro’s school with 265 laptops to help bridge the digital divide.

 

In our #TeacherAppreciationWeek segment, we discussed Alejandro’s students’ remote learning challenges, his motivation for teaching this year and also how teachers have become frontline workers during the pandemic.
