Clement was Paul's disciple. This extra-biblical epistle was likely written around 90 A.D. The Corinthians were once a church filled with immorality. Sixty years after receiving Paul's teaching, God had worked among them and they were like a new church: despite existing heresy that marred their reputation, they had grown into faithful students of the Word, hospitable, dutiful in love and marriage, and spiritually sober. This epistle emphasizes faithfulness over flashy works.
