Then Steve and Boston Capper break down Torrey Pines. Boston Capper starts off by saying what he likes about the place, while Steve bites his tongue as he listens along. Then Steve goes over some of the changes made to Torrey Pines before the 2021 U.S. Open, along with the differences between that set up and the Farmers Insurance Open setup.

Steve wraps up the preview by addressing the stereotype that bombers have a huge edge at Torrey Pines. While he overall agrees with the sentiment, it's not exactly as clear cut as many think it is. Is Torrey Pines actually a putting contest?
