20220721 Act 2:22-32 Resurrection Power!

Act 2:22 (ESV) “Men of Israel, hear these words: Jesus of Nazareth, a man attested to you by God with mighty works and wonders and signs that God did through him in your midst, as you yourselves know—

Act 2:23 (ESV) this Jesus, delivered up according to the definite plan and foreknowledge of God, you crucified and killed by the hands of lawless men.
Act 2:24 (ESV) God raised him up, loosing the pangs of death, because it was not possible for him to be held by it.
Remember what Jesus said to Martha on the way to Lazarus‘s tomb…

Jesus is NOT just a great “spiritual warrior” in conflict with Satan. Jesus is the Creator God in the flesh!!

This is the Christ who offered himself up to be crucified! No mere man – Almighty God in the flesh!

It is no wonder then that all of the apostles focus on the resurrection – the clear illustration of the power of God over the thing mankind sees as the ultimate end and most often fears most: DEATH.
David was given prophetic insight…
Act 2:31 (ESV) he foresaw and spoke about the resurrection of the Christ, that he was not abandoned to Hades, nor did his flesh see corruption.
Act 2:32 (ESV) This Jesus God raised up, and of that we all are witnesses.
