Seeking a Holy God

He is not a tame God!

At judgment we will all fall on our knees and worship Him but until then He has left it up to us to seek to know Him

Pro 8:17 (ESV)

17 I love those who love me, and those who seek me diligently find me.

Heb 11:6 (ESV)

6 And without faith it is impossible to please him, for whoever would draw near to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him.

3 And this is eternal life, that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom you have sent.

Do you recognize and acknowledge God as holy?

Response to a Holy God

Reject Him because we do not acknowledge His existence

God sent the one they rejected.

In the first 80 years of Moses‘s life we do not see God acting overtly – outwardly super naturally. He was taking Moses on a journey to understand and honor him.

Job 42:5-6 (ESV)

5 I had heard of you by the hearing of the ear, but now my eye sees you;

6 therefore I despise myself, and repent in dust and ashes.”

5 And I said: “Woe is me! For I am lost; for I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips; for my eyes have seen the King, the LORD of hosts!”

What was God doing in those 40 years in Moses‘s life?

God worked on Moses for 80 years before we see Him appear in a supernatural way - burning bush

God’s message to Moses was not about Moses - it was about God’s plan and purpose and what He wanted Moses to do.

God established His relationship with Moses well enough that Moses was steadfast throughout 40 years
