This side street route on 6th off of Terwilliger (south of i5) is maybe a bit steeper at the bottom than going around the curve, but usually seems more pleasant than riding uphill with that car traffic in a painted gutter (which seems to be often neglected, littered with leaves and branches from all of the trees) with poor visibility.
