What’s up everyone! Just a quick video of the installation process for the B&B Off-Road XR150L skid plate this week! You might notice that the quality is a bit higher than usual, and I have ​⁠ to thank for that! He filmed this with his nice camera and it shows! Okay, back to the show!….

I decided on this skid plate because the offering from Honda was plastic and I wanted something that would offer more protection as I am often on unimproved dirt roads.

This cost me about $188-ish shipped to my door in Asheville, NC. It took about a week for it to arrive from Australia.

The welds are really beautiful and the aluminum is super thick! 4mm to be exact! There is a cut out for access to your oil drain plug.

There are only two bolts used to mount the skid plate to the frame. One bolt utilizes a spring clip and the integrated tab on the frame at the front of the motor, and the other threads into an aluminum (or possibly steel?) plate that sits between the frame at the back of the engine.

The job was more difficult than I expected, mainly because it’s hard to see what you’re threading into and if the bolt is even close or not. Luckily I had some help, but if you end up ordering one of these make sure you have an extra set of hands! It will definitely help!
