In today's image, we see a distorted spiral galaxy located in the constellation of Eridanus - the River. The distortion is caused by the gravitational interaction of the galaxy with a smaller, dwarf galaxy just above it in the image. Eventually these will combine together as the larger galaxy will consume the smaller one.
