2023 Showing up - achieving your photographic goals

Listen Later

Welcome! Are you struggling to find your footing as a creative photographer? Well, you’ve come to the right place. My name is Jeanie and I’m here from Dora Jean Creation .com to help you nurture your seed by showing up – no matter what.
You may be anxious to take amazing photographs right away, but the truth of the matter is that it takes practice. So, don’t give up if your first few shots aren’t magazine-perfect. That’s perfectly normal.
With that in mind, I suggest embracing the importance of just showing up — no matter how imperfect your first shots may be. Get to know your equipment and familiarize yourself with its capabilities. You never want to be learning your settings on the job. You need to own that equipment and hone your skill-set in order to truly capture amazing photographs.
Developing your photography skills is a process, and some days will be better than others. Keep a consistent effort in and ignore any lingering feelings of anxiety or doubt. Eventually, you’ll be stunned at the way in which your creativity takes shape.
Also, don’t forget the importance of networking. Having powerful connections will go a long way when it comes to publicizing your photography skills and elevating your career. Plus, it’s always a good idea to learn from others who have been in the industry for a while. Ask yourself: What have they done, and how can I improve upon it?
Most importantly, stay true to your artistic vision. You’re in control of your destiny, so take charge and don’t be afraid to express yourself. The journey of becoming a creative photographer may be intimidating, but remember – showing up is half the battle.
So happy shooting! Don’t forget to bring your A-game everywhere you go, and always remain confident in the vision you have for your photography career. It’s only a matter of time before you start creating beautiful, timeless pieces of art.
