2025 Surf Season Ends: Carolina Coast Forecasts Close Until April 2026 Spring Return

Listen Later

Well folks, it's official. The 2025 surf season has officially wrapped up along the Carolina coast, and the National Weather Service in Wilmington has closed the books on surf forecasting for the year.

If you've been catching waves at Wrightsville Beach, Kure Beach, or anywhere along the North Carolina shoreline, those daily surf zone forecasts you've grown accustomed to are now a thing of the past until spring arrives. Same goes for all our friends down in South Carolina enjoying the breaks at Myrtle Beach, Pawleys Island, and everywhere in between.

Starting today, Friday, October thirty-first, the forecast offices have officially ended the 2025 beach season surf zone forecasting. It's the natural rhythm of the coastal forecast calendar, marking the transition from the busy summer and fall months into the quieter winter period.

But here's the good news if you're already counting down the days to get back in the water. The forecasts will make their triumphant return on April first, twenty twenty-six. So circle that date on your calendar. Spring is when the National Weather Service picks the forecasting back up, bringing daily surf zone updates to help you plan your beach trips and sessions.

Whether you're a hardcore surfer, a casual beach visitor, or just someone who likes to know what conditions to expect at the shoreline, those detailed forecasts covering everything from Pender County up in North Carolina all the way down through Georgetown County in South Carolina will be ready to serve you come next April.

Until then, enjoy the offseason and we'll see you back out there when the official surf zone forecasts return.
