God is not just a God of restoration but of
restitution—He doesn’t just bring things back to how
they were but makes them better than before. In
Christ, we don’t merely regain what was lost; we
receive double for our trouble (Job 42:10). This is
the heart of the gospel: Adam walked with God, but
through Jesus, God now dwells within us. The fall
of man set the stage for a greater revelation of God's
grace and love, proving that all things work
together for good (Romans 8:28).
Key principles to walk in restitution:
1. Victory is already won. God told Joshua,
“See, I have given Jericho into your hand”
(Joshua 6:2). Our battle is not to gain victory,
but to stand in the victory already secured
through Christ.
2. It’s a matter of God’s timing. Just as
Joshua marched for seven days, patience and
faith are required. “Those who have faith and
patience inherit the promises” (Hebrews 6:12).
Delayed blessings often mean greater
breakthroughs.
3. Proclaim the gospel. The priests blew the
ram’s horn, symbolizing the preaching of
Christ’s victory. When we declare the gospel,
faith arises and walls fall.
4. Keep Christ at the center. The Ark was in
the midst of the people, reminding us to fix
our eyes on Jesus(Hebrews 12:2) rather than
focusing on ourselves or our circumstances.
5. Declare victory with a great shout! The
Israelites saw the walls fall after they shouted
in faith (Joshua 6:20). Similarly, our
declarations of faith open the doors for God’s
power to manifest.
God’s promise of restitution means you are not
defined by past losses. Whatever you’ve endured,
your story is not over! Just as Job received double,
God is preparing more than what was taken. He is
not just restoring; He is upgrading. Shout your
victory!
Key Scriptures:
• Job 42:10 – “And the Lord restored the
fortunes of Job, when he had prayed for
his friends. And the Lord gave Job twice
as much as he had before.”
• Isaiah 61:7 – “Instead of your shame you
shall have double honor, and instead of
confusion they shall rejoice in their
portion. Therefore in their land they shall
possess double; everlasting joy shall be
theirs.”
• Joshua 6:20 – “When the people heard
the sound of the trumpet, and the
people shouted with a great shout, the
wall fell down flat.”
Challenge for the Week: Declare this aloud
each morning:
“I receive God’s restitution in my life.
What was lost will be returned greater
than before. I stand in victory through
Jesus Christ!” Amen . I believe it!
