This year marked the 100th anniversary of Route 66, and Michael and Deborah headed back to the Arizona Fun Run to experience the celebration from behind the wheel of Black Beauty Jag. While registration challenges kept many longtime participants from officially joining the event, the spirit of the Mother Road was alive and well along every mile of the journey.
"The real spirit of Route 66 still exists between the towns, the people, the roadside shops, the conversations, and the miles themselves." -Chloe [11:49]From cheering crowds in Seligman to visitors from around the world, this year's Fun Run highlighted Route 66's enduring appeal. Along the way, Michael and Deborah discovered that some of the best moments happen outside the official schedule, where roadside conversations, shared experiences, and unexpected memories become part of the adventure.
The trip also included stops at familiar favorites, including Cool Springs Station and Oatman, where old memories and new stories came together. Join Chloe and Caesar as they look back on a weekend that celebrated not only a historic highway, but the people, places, and traditions that continue to keep Route 66 alive.
