Scripture: Matthew 11:28-30

Rested people make ready people. A rested church is positioned to hear clearly and respond courageously.

Problem: Our hearts aren’t rested.

Answer: Come to Jesus to find the rest you need

1. The essential call in life and ministry: “Come to me…”

The call of Jesus (Matthew 4:19) is to

a. Be with him (come…)

b. Do what he would if he were you (follow me….)

c. Become like him (I will make….)

2. The essential promise in life and ministry: “I will give you rest”

Two Disciplines (“Rules”) to Be Rested and Ready

What does the lifestyle of Jesus teach us?

a. Make Space

Let us make room in our lives to listen to God this upcoming year.

b. Set Pace

Let us walk with God at his pace this upcoming year.
