When Rezin (King of Aram), and Pekah (King of the North) ask Ahaz to squad up so that they can take on Assyria and TP3, Ahaz says no. So, Rezin and Pekah declare war on Ahaz to pressure him into an alliance. Ahaz gets nervous and considers selling out to Assyria, but the prophet Isaiah warns him about making such a rash decision. Ahaz ignores Isaiah’s advice, creates a partnership with TP3, his people lose their national independence, and God’s temple is desecrated.

Bottom line: No good decisions come out of fear.
