Along with authenticity, we build deeper relationships with our athletes by knowing them beyond the sport. We want to know: What other activities are they into? Who are they really?
When the student-athlete's parents realize you have an authentic relationship with their child, it forms a deeper relationship with the parents, too. Then, they are more likely to give you the freedom to challenge their child. As we all know, challenge is necessary for growth.
