COLOSSAL is an under the radar indie drama meets... kaiju battles? Anne Hathaway and Jason Sudekis star in this hard to pin down, but 100% enjoyable film that gets at abusive relationships, self-destructive behaviour, and even gamergate, all through the lens of giant monsters smashing around Seoul, Korea. Colossal is a bewildering, weird experience, but between the layered meaning, great ending, and suburban British Columbia backdrop, it gave us a lot to unpack.
