“It’s the song I just had to write”, says Steve Eales of his latest single, “Southern Trucker”.
“I used to own a timber business that I started from scratch as a truck driver. My memories of life on the road
are still very strong”.
“Southern Trucker” is the second radio single taken from Steve Eales & The Open Road's latest
album, “Let’s Love Not Fight”. Eales freely admits that it's a departure from the traditional Steve Eales sound
with it being the first Rockabilly style song he’s ever written. “It’s also my first crack at that type of guitar
playing. I’m pretty stoked with the results … it’s one of my favourites on the album”.
No stranger to a good party or BnS ball, Ealesy says the vibe for the new tune live has been positive. “I’ve
been told this is a great track to dance to. I’d love someone else to play it while I test that claim … only joking
- I’m no dancer”, he laughed.
"Southern Trucker" is an old school rockabilly track with a modern twist that fans of Johnny Cash will just
love!
