But regardless of all these challenges, it's easy to forget the need for attention. And not just the whiney-type attention. It's the "notice me because I'm me"!

As much as parents think they are giving what the kiddos need, we have a tendency to forget the value of empowerment, encouragement, and hope.

We leave out the most natural action; affection.

And no, not that lovey, dovey stuff. It's all about the good ole fashion hugs.

Your children need a hug from mom and dad. And not because of a finished project, an "A" in school, or the winning goal at the game.

Your children need you to love them because they are yours.

1. LIFT your child up because you can.
2. LOVE unconditionally.
3. LEVEL the playing field. Don't give affection based on results.

Your hugs from home are the best. No one can give better ones.
