Not Bitter. Just Petty.

207: Less Than Paycheck to Paycheck

Listen Later

In this episode, my guest is my cousin Neka.  She provides a view of child support from the perspective of a mother who was never married.  Her story is all too familiar.  When the child support order catches up with the father of her elder daughter, he quits his job and the process must then start all over again.  The end result?  Her daughter has received about $5,000 in support over 16 years.  There is no money for basic comforts. Robbing Peter to pay Paul isn't an option because in her life, Paul is often broke as well.  She is often left effectively homeless because their housing is always insecure.  Listen to this episode and hear her story.
