#20:In The Valley, Pt. 2

Listen Later

Psalm 23

1The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.

2 He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.

3 He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake.

4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.

5 Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.

6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.

Matthew 5:11-12

11 Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake.

12 Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you.

Everyone gets into valleys.

  • You’re either in a valley, coming out of one, or on the mountain.

  • Valleys aren't one way streets.

  • God will always make a way.

  • Where do you do most of you living?

    • Do you live mostly in the valley or on the mountain?

    • The valley is where we do most of our struggling.

    • There are many different valleys.

    • Rebelling against God is rebelling against our best interest.

    • Valleys are unexpected.

      • We shouldn't stay in the valley.

      • Don't let discouragement get you down.

      • God may have us in a valley to purify us.
