20th January 1265 - The first meeting of a representative Parliament, led by Simon de Montfort.

20th January 1649 - The trial of Charles I begins

22nd January 1371 - The House of Stuart begins with the crowning of Robert Stuart, who became Robert II of Scotland

22nd January 1901 - Queen Victoria dies at the end of a 63-year reign.

25th January 1533 - Henry VIII marries Anne Boleyn in a secret ceremony at Whitehall Palace (and I take you out on the streets of Whitehall to show you where that was.)
