There’s no crying on insta! We did a lot more laughing than crying when we talked about ‘A League of Their Own’ (1992) on this week’s episode. This one hit a lot of notes for us: nostalgic baseball flick; 90’s goofy comedy; heartwarming sports tale; peak Tom Hanks; sibling rivalry; and a fantastic ensemble of women headed up with Geena Davis, Madonna, Lori Petty, and Rosie O’Donnell. Director Penny Marshall packed a lot into this movie and we had a great time watching it, largely thanks to the excellent onscreen baseball action (performed almost entirely by the actors themselves). Really makes you wanna get a neighborhood game going. Someday soon. Until then, it’s classics like these that keep us going.
