Today's focus: YOUR CONSCIENCE.

In this episode, we explore the idea that God's Spirit, living within us, can guide us internally toward truth, wisdom, conviction, and purpose.

We'll also revisit several foundational principles from the challenge, including:

• The Holy Spirit's role in leading us into truth

• The difference between Logos—the Written Word of God—and Rhema—a timely, personal Word

• How Rhema communication may come through a variety of methods

• Why internal guidance still requires biblical discernment

• How to distinguish your own thoughts, emotions, and impulses from what you believe may be Holy Spirit-led guidance

We'll anchor today's teaching in several key passages:

John 4:24 — God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.

Genesis 1:26–27 and 2:7 — humanity created in God's image and given life by His breath.

Job 32:8 — the breath of the Almighty gives understanding.

Isaiah 30:21 — a picture of clear internal direction: “This is the way; walk in it.”

Romans 8:16 — the Spirit bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God.

One of today's central ideas is that Holy Spirit-led guidance may not always feel like an audible voice coming from outside of you. Sometimes the experience may be internal—a strong conviction, clarity, restraint, prompting, or understanding that causes you to pause and seek God more intentionally.

But internal does not automatically mean divine.

Discernment matters.

Pull out your God Speaks to Me Companion Journal and reflect on moments when you experienced an internal prompting, conviction, or sense of direction.

Ask yourself:

Did it align with Scripture?

Did it reflect God's character?

Did it produce wisdom rather than confusion or recklessness?

Did it lead me toward truth, integrity, love, or obedience?

Was there confirmation over time?

Rather than assuming every thought originates with the Holy Spirit, practice slowing down, praying, and testing what you're sensing.

🌊 TODAY'S CHALLENGE

In the original challenge, you're encouraged to listen to today's episode three times—once in reflection on God the Father, again on God the Son, and a third time on God the Holy Spirit.

Each time, listen for something you may not have noticed before and record what stands out in your journal.

The goal isn't repetition for repetition's sake. It's to sit with the teaching long enough to notice what requires deeper reflection, prayer, or application.

Are some “right place, right time” moments really just coincidence—or could God be using circumstances to get your attention?

Welcome to Day 11 of the 21-Day Spirit-Led Life Challenge. We’ve officially reached the halfway point, and today we’re exploring another way we believe the Holy Spirit can communicate with us: COINCIDENCE.

Sometimes events line up in ways that seem too timely, too specific, or too connected to ignore. A conversation happens at the exact moment you need it. You cross paths with someone unexpectedly. A door opens—or closes—in a way that changes your direction.

In today’s episode, we’ll explore how Scripture shows God working through timing, circumstances, relationships, and seemingly unexpected events.

We’ll look at examples from the lives of Joseph, Esther, Ruth, and the disciples and consider how God can use circumstances to move His people toward purpose.

In this episode, we’ll explore:

• What we mean when we talk about coincidence in a Spirit-led life

• How God can order and direct our steps

• Why timing can matter in spiritual discernment

• How biblical figures experienced circumstances they could not have planned themselves

• How perspective affects what we recognize

Has something happened that made you say, “What are the chances of that?”

Instead of immediately calling it either random or divine, pray about it. Ask:

Did this circumstance redirect me in some way?

Does it connect with something I’ve been praying about?

Does it align with Scripture and God’s character?

Is there an action I believe I’m being prompted to take—or do I simply need to keep watching and praying?

Spirit-led discernment means being attentive without becoming superstitious. We can acknowledge God's sovereignty while still testing our interpretations carefully.

Today's focus: MEDIA.

Over the past nine days, we've explored our five natural senses, the Written Word (Logos), a Rhema Word, dreams, and visions.

Today, we're expanding our awareness to something most of us encounter every single day: media.

Television. Radio. Social media. Podcasts. Videos. News. Music. Books. Digital content. These are all tools through which information can reach large audiences—and sometimes something we encounter through them may capture our attention in a way that causes us to stop, pray, reflect, or seek God for greater understanding.

In today's episode, we'll explore:

• What we mean by communication through media

• How media allows messages to reach people across the world

• How something you hear or see through media can unexpectedly capture your attention

• Why repetition or timing may cause us to stop and seek God

• How media can point us back toward Scripture and prayer

• Why discernment is essential when consuming media

• How to distinguish between simply encountering content and something that may warrant deeper spiritual consideration

We'll anchor today's discussion in several Scriptures:

📖 Psalm 19:1–5 reminds us that God's glory is declared throughout creation.

📖 Matthew 24:14 speaks of the Gospel being proclaimed throughout the world.

📖 1 Corinthians 9:22–23 shows Paul's willingness to use different approaches for the sake of sharing the Gospel.

These passages help us consider an important principle: God's truth isn't confined to one communication channel.

If something unexpectedly captures your attention—a statement in a podcast, a Scripture in a video, words in a social media post, something on television, or another message—write it down before deciding what it means.

Then ask:

Why did this stand out to me?

Does it align with Scripture?

Does it connect with something I've been praying about?

Is this simply interesting content, or is there something I should prayerfully examine further?

The goal isn't to assume that everything appearing on your screen is a message from God. Media contains truth, opinion, entertainment, misinformation, persuasion, and countless other voices. That's exactly why developing Holy Spirit-led discernment matters.

Ask God for wisdom to recognize what deserves your attention—and what doesn't.

What is a vision—and how is experiencing a vision different from having a dream?

Welcome to Day 9 of the 21-Day Spirit-Led Life Challenge, where we're exploring 21 ways we believe the Holy Spirit can communicate with us—and learning how to recognize, discern, respond to, and take action on His guidance with greater confidence.

Today's focus: VISIONS.

Yesterday, we explored dreams. Today, we turn our attention to another form of spiritual communication found throughout Scripture: visions.

Unlike dreams, which occur while we're sleeping, visions in Scripture can occur while a person is awake or consciously aware. They may involve vivid spiritual imagery, revelation, instruction, warning, confirmation, or insight that requires prayer and discernment to understand.

In today's episode, we'll explore:

• The distinction between dreams and visions

• The biblical purpose of visions

• Characteristics of visions, including clarity, purpose, and interpretation

• Examples of people receiving visions throughout Scripture

• Why spiritual experiences still require discernment

• How fear or resistance can affect our willingness to receive unfamiliar forms of communication

• The importance of documenting what you experience rather than relying solely on memory

We'll also discuss our willingness to receive from the Holy Spirit. As we mature spiritually, we can become more open to God communicating in ways that may be different from what is familiar or comfortable to us—while continuing to test what we experience against Scripture, God's character, prayer, and wise discernment.

Pull out your God Speaks to Me Companion Journal.

If you experience something you believe may be a vision, document it before attempting to interpret it. Record exactly what you saw, what you were doing beforehand, what stood out, and what you sensed or understood during the experience.

Then pray.

Ask the Holy Spirit for understanding and confirmation. Don't feel pressured to immediately assign meaning to every detail. Sometimes discernment requires time, prayer, Scripture, and patience.

Can God communicate with us through our dreams? And if He does, how do we recognize when a dream may have spiritual significance?

Welcome to Day 8 of the 21-Day Spirit-Led Life Challenge, where we're exploring 21 ways we believe the Holy Spirit can communicate with us—and learning how to recognize, discern, respond to, and take action on His guidance with greater confidence.

Today's focus: DREAMS.

Dreams have been part of my personal journey with God since before I even knew Him. As a young girl, I didn't understand the significance of some of the dreams I experienced, and at times they frightened me. Over the years, however, I've learned to approach dreams differently—through prayer, Scripture, discernment, and the guidance of the Holy Spirit.

Building on Days 6 and 7, where we explored the Logos—the Written Word of God—and Rhema—a timely Word from God, today we examine biblical examples of God communicating through dreams.

Scripture gives us numerous accounts of dreams being used to reveal information, provide direction, issue warnings, and communicate something the recipient did not previously understand.

We'll explore passages including:

Numbers 12:6 — God speaks of making Himself known through visions and dreams.

Job 33:14–15 — describes God speaking while people sleep.

Genesis 40:8 — reminds us that the interpretation of dreams belongs to God.

We'll also discuss practical ways to document, pray about, and discern your dreams rather than immediately assuming that every dream carries a message from God.

In today's episode, we'll explore:

• Biblical examples of God communicating through dreams

• My personal experiences with dreams and spiritual growth

• Why remembering and documenting dreams can be important

• How to seek God concerning the meaning of a dream

Keep your God Speaks to Me Journal beside your bed. When you wake from a dream you believe may be significant, write down as much as you can remember before the details begin to fade.

Then pray.

Rather than immediately searching for a symbolic meaning or assuming the dream came from God, ask the Holy Spirit for wisdom and discernment. Record what stood out, what you were feeling, and anything that may connect with something you've been praying about or experiencing.

Today's focus: THE RHEMA WORD OF GOD.

Yesterday, we explored the Logos—the Written Word of God and the biblical foundation it provides for our faith and discernment.

Today, we turn our attention to the Rhema Word—a timely, present, and personal Word that speaks into the circumstances of our lives.

In this episode, we'll explore the distinction between:

LOGOS: The Written Word of God that provides the foundation for our faith.

RHEMA: A timely Word from God that speaks into a particular situation or circumstance.

Through Matthew 4:4 and Romans 10:17, we'll examine the importance of God's Word in strengthening our faith and providing spiritual nourishment for our daily journey.

We'll also look at the Israelites receiving manna in Exodus 16. God provided fresh bread from heaven for each day. We'll use that picture to explore the importance of seeking God for the spiritual nourishment and guidance we need for today.

In this episode, you'll be challenged to:

• Recognize what we mean by a Rhema Word

• Understand the relationship between Logos and Rhema

• Consider how God can speak into your present circumstances

• Recognize that a Rhema Word should remain consistent with God's Written Word

• Reflect on how God's Word strengthens your faith

• Become more intentional about listening for God's direction each day

🕊️ SPIRIT-LED PRACTICE:

Spend time with God today with both your Bible and an open heart. Ask the Holy Spirit to help you understand and apply God's Word to your present circumstances.

If a Scripture, phrase, instruction, or thought becomes especially significant to you, don't rush to conclusions. Write it down. Pray about it. Examine it alongside Scripture. Ask God for wisdom and confirmation as you discern how—or whether—it applies to your situation.

Before we learn to recognize the many ways the Holy Spirit may communicate, we need a foundation for discerning what we're hearing: the Written Word of God.

Welcome to Day 6 of the 21-Day Spirit-Led Life Challenge, where we're exploring 21 ways we believe the Holy Spirit can communicate with us—and learning how to recognize, discern, respond to, and take action on His guidance with greater confidence.

Today's focus: THE LOGOS — THE WRITTEN WORD OF GOD.

During Days 1–5, we explored how our **five natural senses—taste, touch, smell, sight, and hearing—**can contribute to our spiritual awareness.

Now we're moving from the natural senses into another foundational way we understand God's communication: His Written Word.

In 1 Corinthians 15:46, we explored the relationship between the natural and the spiritual. And in Genesis 1:26–28, we see God create humanity in His image and give mankind purpose, responsibility, authority, and blessing.

But how do we understand God's intentions, His standards, and how He desires us to live?

We go to His Word.

The Logos, the Written Word of God, provides the biblical foundation through which we understand God's character, His commandments, His promises, His expectations, and His principles for living.

We'll also explore Genesis 2:7, where God breathes life into man, as we consider our spiritual identity and God's original design for humanity.

In today's episode, we'll explore:

• What we mean by Logos — the Written Word of God

• Why Scripture is foundational to spiritual discernment

• God's original design and purpose for humanity

• How God's Word provides instruction and boundaries

• How Scripture helps us evaluate what we believe we're hearing spiritually

Spend intentional time in Scripture today. Rather than approaching the Bible simply to finish a reading assignment, ask the Holy Spirit to help you understand what you're reading. Pay attention to what the passage reveals about God's character, His instructions, His promises, and how He desires you to live.

And as we continue exploring other ways we believe the Holy Spirit communicates throughout this challenge, remember this principle:

What we believe we're hearing spiritually should not require us to abandon the truth and character of God revealed through Scripture.

Of all our natural senses, hearing may feel like the most familiar way to think about hearing from God—but are we actually learning to recognize His voice?

Welcome to Day 5 of the 21-Day Spirit-Led Life Challenge, where we're exploring 21 ways we believe the Holy Spirit can communicate with us—and learning how to recognize, discern, respond to, and take action on His guidance with greater confidence.

Today's focus: HEARING.

Today we complete our exploration of the five natural senses with hearing.

Hearing—both physically and spiritually—is a gift from God that can help us develop greater awareness and discernment. In Proverbs 20:11–13, we're reminded that our ears and eyes are gifts from the Lord. Throughout this challenge, we've been examining how our natural senses can serve as tools that help us understand spiritual perception.

But hearing isn't the same as discerning.

Discernment is Holy Spirit-guided perception—the ability to judge well, recognize truth, and distinguish God's guidance from the many other voices competing for our attention.

Jesus says in John 10:27, “My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me.” As our relationship with God deepens, we can grow in recognizing His character, His truth, and the ways He leads His children.

In this episode, we'll explore:

• Physical hearing and spiritual hearing

• How our senses contribute to discernment

• Learning to recognize God's voice

• Why knowing God's character matters

• How discernment can protect us from deception

• The relationship between hearing, recognizing, and following

• What it means to worship God in spirit and truth

We'll also examine Jesus' warning about deception in Matthew 24:23–28 and John 4:24, where Jesus teaches that God is Spirit and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.

🕊️ SPIRIT-LED PRACTICE:

Today, intentionally listen—not only to what's happening around you, but to what captures your attention. A word, conversation, sound, statement, or Scripture may cause you to pause. Instead of immediately assigning spiritual meaning to it, ask: Why did that stand out to me? Does it align with Scripture and God's character? Is there something I need to pray about or examine more closely?

Developing discernment isn't about finding a message in everything. It's about becoming more attentive while allowing Scripture, prayer, wisdom, and the Holy Spirit to guide what you do with what you've noticed.

What are you looking at—and could what has your attention be affecting your ability to recognize where the Holy Spirit is leading you?

Welcome to Day 4 of the 21-Day Spirit-Led Life Challenge, where we're exploring 21 ways we believe the Holy Spirit can communicate with us—and learning how to recognize, discern, respond to, and take action on His guidance with greater confidence.

Today's focus: SIGHT.

In today's episode, we explore both physical and spiritual sight and how what we choose to focus on can shape our relationship with God and our ability to follow His direction.

Psalm 119:18 says, “Open my eyes that I may see wonderful things in your law.” Along with Proverbs 4:25, we'll examine the importance of spiritual vision, keeping our focus on the path before us, and guarding our eyes against distractions that can pull our attention away from God's direction.

I'll also share a personal story about my siblings, our grandmother, and her candy dish that illustrates something important about being God's children: guidance and boundaries can be an expression of love and protection.

We'll explore:

• The difference between physical sight and spiritual vision

• How what captures our attention can influence our direction

• Why guarding our eyes matters in a Spirit-led life

• How God's guidance and boundaries can protect us

• What it means to focus on eternal rather than temporary things

• How the Holy Spirit can help us see beyond what's immediately in front of us

In 2 Corinthians 4:18, Paul teaches us to fix our eyes not simply on what is seen, but on what is unseen. We'll consider what it means to develop that kind of spiritual perspective—learning to see circumstances, decisions, opportunities, and even distractions through the lens of faith.

🕊️ SPIRIT-LED PRACTICE:

Pay attention today to what catches your eye. What repeatedly draws your attention? What are you choosing to focus on? Ask the Holy Spirit to help you discern whether something you're seeing is simply a distraction, something requiring your attention, or an opportunity for God to reveal a deeper truth. Compare what you perceive with Scripture and pray for clarity before drawing conclusions.

Spend some additional time with Ephesians 1:18 and Hebrews 12:2–3 as you reflect on spiritual sight, focus, and keeping your eyes fixed on God.

Today's focus: SMELL.

In today's episode, we explore the spiritual significance of the sense of smell and a fascinating biblical theme: fragrance isn't always about what is pleasing to us—Scripture repeatedly uses aroma to describe what is pleasing to God.

Our obedience, love, sacrifice, and worship can rise before God as a “sweet aroma” or pleasing fragrance.

From Noah's sacrificial offering in Genesis 8:21 to Paul's teaching in 2 Corinthians 2:14–17, we'll examine how Scripture uses scent and fragrance to communicate spiritual truths about our relationship with God and the way we live before Him.

We'll explore:

• The biblical significance of a pleasing aroma

• How obedience and worship can delight God

• What Scripture teaches about spiritual fragrance

• How our lives can reflect Christ to those around us

• How greater spiritual awareness can help us recognize what the Holy Spirit may be revealing

You'll also receive homework Scriptures to continue your study beyond today's episode and help you reflect on how your life can become increasingly aligned with God's purpose.

🕊️ SPIRIT-LED PRACTICE:

Today, intentionally pay attention to your sense of smell. When a particular scent unexpectedly captures your attention, pause. What does it remind you of? What were you thinking or praying about at that moment? Does it bring a Scripture, person, memory, situation, or instruction to mind? Pray and ask the Holy Spirit for discernment rather than immediately assuming what the experience means.
