Who remembers the USA Bicentennial Cup? Anyone? No?
For the uninitiated, the four team tournament was held in the summer of 1976 to mark 200 years of American independence.
After failing to qualify for Euro 76, Don Revie's boys made the trip across the pond to compete against Brazil, Italy and Team America (including the likes of Pele and Sir Bobby Moore). The tournament would give Revie a chance to test some new players and tactics out ahead of some major World Cup qualifiers on the horizon.
Today's episode looks at his team's clash against Italy, a fierce encounter held on the unfamiliar terrain of Yankee Stadium. Let the madness commence!
