Trigger Warning. This is a tragic story! The Hyatt Regency in downtown KCMO was opened in 1980. July 17th 1981 tragedy struck and two of the three skywalks inside the hotel collapsed, killing 114 people and injuring over 200. It was the deadliest structural failure in American engineering history.
