At 37-years-old, LT John Corbett entered the police force and began a new career. In this episode, John talks about the extensive process he and his family had to go through to join the Frederick Police Department. While the department has felt like a family since day one, life as a police officer hasn't always been easy. The last few years have definitely come with its share of ups and downs.
John has worked very hard to make sure that the public and his department have felt safe and supported during the pandemic as well as the Black Lives Matter protests. According to John, the key to being a good cop is, "come to work, do your job well, and be the person that you've always been."

"I know one of the things that's been challenging, especially since the events of 2020, is sometimes it feels like we're treated like a monolith. And no one should be treated like a monolith. We're all individuals. I talked about the culture of this agency. Cultures change across organizations. I'm not even talking about law enforcement now. Any business organization, there's a culture. And when you start lumping everybody into the same box, that's the very definition of stereotyping."
