If you ask me, mental health is the foundation of wellness. The little voice in your head is what guides you to do literally everything in your life. So when that little voice is telling you to do things that aren't necessarily good for your wellbeing or the wellbeing of others, well that's where problems are most likely going to start snowballing into a life of chaos, confusion and stress. Working on your mental health can help you to stabilize your emotions and help you make better life choices. Feeling confident in the choices you make on a daily basis can help lead to a better sense of self awareness and success without the stress.
3 Ways To Strengthen Mental Health:
1. Seek Help When Needed: For so long there has been a stigma about reaching out for help when you need it. Finding someone you trust or, even better, a professional to help you sift through your negative thought patterns and habits can be extremely beneficial in the the realm of self development. Whether you prefer talk therapy or art therapy or maybe you would like a coach to help guide you to your highest potential... Remember, do what's best for you. If you've never tried any sort of therapy or coaching, I suggest sampling all of them to see which works best for you and your current situation. In case no one else has told you this before, it's okay to ask for help when you feel like you need it. It doesn't make you any less of a person, if anything it shows just how strong you are.
2. Take Time For Self Discovery: We all have times where we feel like we're not quite ourselves, when life feels uncomfortable or stagnant. This is the perfect time to dive deep and discover what truly makes you happy. Where do you feel the most safe and secure? Who in your world can you truly trust? What type of lifestyle or mindset would help you feel fulfilled and satisfied? Creating the time for this deep dive discover can help you better understand yourself and strengthen your mental health.
3. Asana And Affirmations: This is literally going to be a recommendation for every single episode. When you combine movement and control of the body with positive thought patterns, it becomes easier to strengthen your mental health. By moving out stagnant energies in the body that's stored in the tissues, while at the same time infusing the mind with affirmations, you are reprogramming the mind while relaxing the parasympathetic nervous system in the body, creating a peaceful atmosphere to thrive in. I prefer listening to these particular affirmations on repeat while laying in Savasana and practicing deep 3-part breathing. (Find the link to the affirmations on repeat below)
