R U OK Day is coming up, considering that and beautiful post I saw by @sweetcherrysoda I wanted this week to have a quick chat about mental health. While I am in no mean an expert when it comes to mental health, I have witnessed mental illness and with my own stresses, overwhelm and fears rising I have seen my life becoming more and more controlled by anxiety. I have found talking about my struggles and normalising the struggles of others have really helped me. I believe when it comes to mental health, we need to unite in order to find a solution and heal each other.
R U OK Day falls on Thursday the 12th of September. On this day in particular, if not each and every day, please check in with your friends, your family, your loved ones and most importantly yourself. Ask, ‘Are you okay’ and take the time to hear the answer. Together, let’s bring about a loving and caring change when it comes to mental health.
As always, I hope you got some value out of this episode. If you did, it would mean the world to me if you could leave a rating and review this podcast on your app. If ever you want to find me or get in touch please head over to my Instagram @britetheridge, check out my website or join the Facebook group – The Zesty Life Community.
Until next week, stay zesty!
