21. Selling Breast Milk To Become A Bossbabe

Listen Later

Selling breast milk to become a bossbabe. Now, you can do whatever you want with your breast milk, I do not care. It has nothing to do with me clearly. It is more the company that encourages it that I am concerned about, if you will.I'll tell you a story. I'm watching this documentary called LulaRich, if you are familiar with it, it is based on the company LulaRoe. And there is a scene where one person says, one of the the retailers decided to sell their breast milk in order to raise the startup funds to purchase the starter package, which is something like $5,000 for 300 pieces of leggings and maxi skirts. So this woman apparently sold her breast milk to raise the funds to start this business. I'm not as perturbed by that as I am by the fact that it was then encouraged and used as a success story, or an example of how to think out of the box to start your company and raise the startup funds. Where do you draw the line? Would prostitution be the next suggestion? And so they tell the story about this woman who raised the funds. Then there's a scene where they're asking the founders, if that's ever been encouraged, and the owner says no, never. That's ridiculous. Then it cuts to a video of a team on a webinar or a conference call or something. And they clearly say, oh, one of the retailers, they raised startup funds by selling their breast milk. Perhaps the founders might not have been encouraging it. But clearly the upline team member, the mentor or whatever they call them at that organization was encouraging it and using that as a case study to have people think out of the box to come up with the funds to invest in the business. Now clearly, when you're in an MLM company, your upline might say stupid shit all the time. And the founders can't control what the upline says. But the founders can set the culture and probably talk about things that are out of bounds. So perhaps, you know, the the founders didn't know about it, perhaps they did encourage that kind of thing. Apparently, the founders were helping people get liposuction operations in order to look the part and help them recruit with their lifestyle choices. I mean, who am I to judge these things? This documentary could be biased because there they could be just interviewing rogue former distributors or it could be a shit show at that company. I don't know, I have never participated in that company. So I don't have first hand experience. Documentaries can be slanted one way, and try to portray a specific narrative. But that is not how you become a boss. There are other ways to raise funds. But you know what, who am I? I'm not judging that person, who the hell am I to judge? I don't know that person. I found it interesting, the people behind the documentary obviously found it fascinating enough to mention it. So how to become a bossbabe by selling your breast milk. You sell your breast milk and then you raise the funds to use those funds to start a business. There could be worse decisions in life I guess. What about the baby though? Did we hear from the baby? I want to hear from the baby. Did the baby go hungry?I'm sure the baby had enough food. Anyways, in the next episode, we're going to talk about out the Sisterhood of the Traveling Ugly Leggings. Catch you in the next episode. Keep building and enjoy your life.
