Dr. Ann Hamel (psychologist and mental health provider with the General Conference International Service Employee Support Team) helps us identify the six most common mental health challenges that Adventist missionaries face.

They are:

1. Social disruption
2. Stress related to transition and cultural resistance
3. Marital tensions
4. Anxiety
5. Depression
6. Trauma caused by a crisis

Dr. Hamel then takes us one step further. She identifies means of support and resources available to Adventist missionaries facing these challenges.
